How often are my links checked?

Links are checked approximately every 24 hours.

You can also trigger a manual check by clicking "Re-check status" in the link menu.

What statuses can a link have?

Each link can have one of the following statuses:

• OK – The link is live and matches the expected target page, anchor, and rel attribute (if defined).
• LNF (Link Not Found) – The link is not present on the source page.
• 404, 500, etc. – The source page returns an HTTP error.
• WLP (Wrong Landing Page) – The link is present but points to a different page than expected.
• WR (Wrong Rel) – The link is present but marked as nofollow when follow is expected.
• WA (Wrong Anchor) – The link is present but the anchor text differs from the expected one.
• LPE (Landing Page Error) – The link points to a page on your site that doesn’t exist.
• IC (Invalid Content) – The source page is not a valid HTML document.
• SU (Site Unreachable) – The source page could not be accessed.
• NI (NoIndex) – The source page is marked noindex, meaning it has no SEO value.

Why is a link reported as LNF even if it's visible?

If Linkody reports a link as LNF (Link Not Found) even though you can see it in your browser, the most common reason is that our crawler was blocked when trying to access the source page.

​Why is a link shown as nofollow when the rel is follow?

A link can be marked as nofollow due to:

1. A rel="nofollow" attribute on the link
2. A robots meta tag
3. An X-Robots-Tag HTTP header

What happens if a webpage contains several backlinks?

If a page contains several backlinks to your site:

• Linkody will show the first link with a follow rel attribute.
• If all are nofollow, it will show the first link found.

Why does Linkody report fewer links than other tools like Ahrefs or Semrush?

There are 3 main reasons for this difference:

1. One link per referring domain
   Linkody shows only one backlink per referring domain. To compare fairly, you should compare the number of referring domains, not total backlinks.

2. Only live links are shown
   Linkody displays only links that are live at the time the domain is added. Other tools include links that are no longer present, leading to inflated numbers.

3. Trial limitations
   During the trial, Linkody shows only backlinks discovered in the last 3 months. You'll need to upgrade your subscription to access the full backlink history.

How can I disable automatic discovery of new links?

If you want to use Linkody to monitor the status of only the links you add manually, you can disable the automatic discovery.

For all domains

Go to your settings

and disable this option:

For a specific domain

1. Go to the domain's settings

2. Uncheck "Discover new backlinks automatically"​

For a new domain you are about to add, uncheck this box:

You can also contact support to disable this globally for all domains.

Can I manually change a link's status?

Yes. If you believe a link is incorrectly flagged, you can:

• Manually set the status to OK

A hand icon will appear next to the status to indicate manual override.

• Define expected attributes (landing page, anchor, rel)

You can always reset it and recheck the link.

How can I exclude certain links from email reports?

To monitor only your most important links:

• When adding links manually, uncheck "Report status changes"
• To apply this to newly discovered links, uncheck the relevant box in the domain settings

Linkody will still check these links, but won't include them in daily reports.

Why can't I add new domains?

Check your quota usage in your Account. Remember that each competitor counts as one domain. If you've reached your limit, you can replace a domain after 30 days.

What are user roles and their permissions?

1. Observer – Read-only access to all data.
2. Client – Read-only access to links, analytics, and landing pages.
3. Link Builder – Access to specific domains as assigned.
4. Manager/Owner – Full control over domains and user access.

How do I update my billing details (payment method or address)?

Follow the steps described in this article.

How do I delete my Linkody account?

Go to Account, scroll to the bottom, and click Delete my account.

This will permanently remove all your data from Linkody.
